Steve Boom, Yahoo's former SVP of Connected Life, which includes mobile, has been appointed to the position of CEO at mig33 , a mobile social community. Boom left Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) this fall, after spending a decade at the company. He will also join mig33 's board. mig33 , based in Burlingame, Calif. offers users social and entertainment services, like IM, chat, text messaging, VoIP, emails and photo-sharing on a mobile phone. The company, founded in 2005, is backed by Accel Partners, Redpoint Ventures and DCM. The company's co- founder and former CEO Steven Goh will become EVP and will remain on the board. release | |
